The purpose of the Zoning, Planning and Land Use Section of the North Carolina Bar Association is to aid the Members of the Bar, the courts and the general public in understanding, applying, and developing land use law in the State of North Carolina. In order to accomplish this goal, the section shall: (1) develop and sponsor continuing legal education programs; (2) publish a regular newsletter commenting upon and critiquing recent developments in zoning and land use law with particular attention being paid to the practical implications of those developments for practitioners and their clients; and (3) develop and advocate for the passage of legislation designed to assist Members of the Bar to work more efficiently and effectively with state and local governments to achieve goals which are mutually beneficial to their clients and the public-at-large.
